Stop it in Cambodia / Art Direction / Strategy

In order to encourage people to take more action in combating wildlife crime, the ministry is collaborating with WCS and Melon Rouge in order to develop a communication strategy. The purpose is to raise public and government awareness of wildlife trafficking and wildlife crime.

CONCEPT:
STOP IT IN CAMBODIA
It doesn’t matter where the wildlife trafficking comes from where it heads to. But when arrives in Cambodia’s soil. We have to stop it!
Take pride in protecting our country, reject transboundary wildlife trafficking.
Video "Stop it in Cambodia"
A luggage, a box and a shipping container, one by one, tell a story about ‘a crime’ of their foreign owners that is putting Cambodia in a bad name.
At the end of the video, it’s revealed that the owners/facilitators are arrested by the customs/police and the crime hidden inside the three items is the traffic of wildlife products.

Video “Don’t shake hands with the criminal”
A journey of a mysterious box that travels all the way from Africa to China/Vietnam, but first it transits in Cambodia. The box tells a story about its business that kills 20,000 lives and launders $26 bn every year.
At the end of the video, it’s revealed that the facilitator, the transporter of the box, is arrested because the box contains ivory.
To serve our objective in promoting the ministry’s leadership & actions and raising awareness about wildlife trafficking, we choose Facebook as one of the main platforms to distribute our campaign. As the biggest social media platform in Cambodia, Facebook gives a big impact to the campaign not limited to spreading awareness but also encourages audience to engage with the content directly on the post.
We develop 3 categories with 16 posts in total to run for 1 month and a half period. Those include:

- It's happening: To raise awareness about the situation of transnational wildlife trafficking in Cambodia.
Penalty: To encourage people and to show that everyone can play a role to stop including officials, facilitators, the general public, and media.
- Stop wildlife trafficking:  Using legal punishment to put pressure on the offenders as well as the facilitators.
