2020 provided a difficult challenge for events: how do you engage and interest people to attend an educational webinar? We found that the best solution was to promote the content in a visually intriguing way. Which is how we landed on using GIFS in our promotional marketing. Let's be honest, who doesn't love a good GIF?
GIFs were not the only strategy that we used during this campaign either. More and more people are using their phones or tablets as their primary device so targeting mobile and desktop was a top demand which was done using a responsive email layout that worked well for both.
Responsive layouts can't only be limited to screen size though. No one wants to be blinded by a beautiful yet bright email. The next challenge was to prevent that by respecting someone's choice to use a dark mode for their screen. Most email applications make a valiant effort to swap colors be we wanted to make sure that we were on brand, which meant customizing an email just a little bit more to achieve that.
