The AIAS/AARP Livable Communities Urban Design Competition called for a development plan for a livable community – one accessible to people of all ages, income, and mobility. My entry, entitled "Industrial Revolution", located in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood, gave a basic redevelopment plan for the central portion of the neighborhood which provides guidelines for architects and designers to follow when building in the neighborhood, removes barriers between the existing neighborhood and the Allegheny River, takes advantage of an expanded public transportation system and encourages bike use. My entry was awarded an Honorable Mention. -May 2011
