From fall 2007 to spring ‘08 I was the leader of the graphical group at the student organization Det Akademiske Kvarter in Bergen. The organization provides a place for students to drink coffee in the daytime and beer at night, and for other student organizations to host different arrangements, including debates, concerts, theater, and so on.
At the time, the main building was closed for remodeling, meaning that the organization temporarily lost a central part of it’s identity. To compensate for this, I made the decision that our ads and other profile-bearing elements should all be in shades of red and black, in order to communicate a very clear profile, while still allowing for great stylistic freedom – which is quite necessary in a student organization.
