Exploring the Torus — Personal project · 2013

 

I've been studying geometry and patterns for some time now and recently i stumbled on a video somewhere on YouTube. It was a guy enthusiastically saying that everything in the universe are toruses. I thought It might be interesting to see how they look styled into graphic pictures.  
I created wireframe models of toruses with different amount of details in 3D and viewed them from different angels. Beautiful patterns started to emerge, as well as harmonic graphic shapes. 
I've tried to capture the most fascinating patterns that occurred during my examination of this three dimensional object.
