Cherry Tree Lane
The biggest requirements for this project were to capture the images yourself and to be as artistic as you like. So instead of slapping images together, I wanted to make it look like one big, nicely combined images.
While working on various projects, I found a new and better way, for me, to track what all needed to be done for each project. So I began making a list of everything I needed, as shown below.
I took my camera and a micro lens out to the cherry trees in a small city south of my own. I enjoyed the quiet and the beauty around me as I explored the cherry tree lanes, capturing all the different angles and perspectives I could. I uploaded all my images into Lightroom and Photoshop and did a few quick edits.
Some of the images are well blended into the photo making it appear as if they were always there, like the trees at the end of the lane, the mountain in the background, or the brightly-colored, scattered, small cherries through the image. Other pieces of the image are easy to spot as an addition to the image, like the faded cherry.
This project really tested my abilities to mask and bring together a beautiful image from start to finish in a timely manner. I finished it off with a 800px x 1000px crop.
