Multilevel marketing is a marketing strategy that sells products through a network of distributors. Some individuals may have a negative image about MLM because it is frequently alleged that MLM are pyramid schemes. There are many companies  that adopt this MLM strategy. To protect these companies, direct selling association was created. Direct selling association is a national trade association that strives to protect, serve and guard the direct selling industry by providing support to the direct selling companies.

Direct selling association US has recently announced awards for the direct selling companies in a virtual award ceremony. DSA has honored the companies in different categories. 

“2020 CSR Vision for Tomorrow” - Amway, the top direct selling company of health, beauty, and home care products bagged this award for their project light speed.

“Excellence in Business” and “Vision for Tomorrow”- Nu Skin Enterprises, a US-based company of personal care and dietary supplements was presented multiple awards for their outstanding sales performance plan, velocity and for the company's sustainability commitments.

“Technology Innovation” -  Damsel in Defense, a US based personal protection products company has achieved an award for their innovative product, protected pepper with shield technology.

“Marketing/Sales Campaigns”  -Scentsy, Inc. was presented in this category for its new membership program, Scentsy Club. 

“Product Innovation”- USANA Health Sciences received the award for USANA oral care range of products.

“Partnership” - Multibrain received an award in this category.

DSA has also announced a list of top 25 direct selling companies based on their net sales in the USA for 2019.Some of the companies are Amway, Nuskin Enterprises, Ambit energy, LifeVantage, etc.So as per the 2019 statistics of U.S., direct selling brought about $35.2 billion in retail sales.
