Typeface 001, as yet unnamed and still in development, stemmed from research conducted into modern type design. During this research, typefaces designed solely for screen were compared with those from the print era to define where any differences lay.
Charactieristics evident in screen-oriented typefaces were identified, and a set of rough guidelines were drawn up. Typeface 001 has been designed to display most of these qualities as an experiment into readability at small sizes. However, the development may take on a different route at a later date.
I am interested in working with another type designer to continue polishing this typeface.
