Smitte is an independent art coalition that was born surrounding the exhibition Dream:ON at Galleri Seilduken, Oslo, 2006. Smitte consists of loose collaborations across traditional artistic boundaries, like a publisher where different elements from diverse cultural expressions and situations come together, and through joined forces organize towards a fresh view at tendencies and common habits. The goal is to generate thoughts, explore, confront and display different conceptions through the collaboration of different fields of interest, age and background, and call on ingenuousness and curiosity, both from own and others points of view.

Prior Smitte has arranged and curated the exhibition Til Vanlig (eng. To Ordninary) , in the centre of the fortified town of Fredrikstad, the 10 day durating festival Tornado, and God morgen Norge (eng. Good Morning Norway) the main street in Halden. Smitte was also invited by Nisjelandet to contribute during the music festival by:larm at Folkets Hus/Oslo Kongressenter in Oslo. Most recently Smitte collaborated with Kompani Teaterprinsessa surrounding the visuals, script and concepts for the theatrical play Prospekt: Kirsebærhagen (based on the play The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov) set up in Black Box, Halden, 2011.

At time being, Smitte is a a bunch of dialogues and sketches, fights, frustration and finding the scraps of time to party between individual lives and projects. Read Less
