Olympic Logo & Icons

NYC Olympic Logo & Icons
One of the objectives of this project was to design a NYC Olympic Logo inspired by iconic images, landmarks, culture or any other elements characteristic to New York City.

My design not only incorporates the most recognizable NYC landmark, Statue of Liberty, but it also uses New York subway system elements to alter the Olympic Rings themselves. One can easily recognize the colors of particular subway lines in each ring as well as symbols marking local and large stations where they interlock. The background of the logo is also the color of the subway map to emphasize this resemblance. Moreover, font used on NY letters is the one from the most notorious t-shirt prints of all time,
"I LOVE NY".
Second part of the project required for design of four Icons associated with made up 'sport' disciplines typical to activities performed by a regular New Yorker. The Icons rather speak for themselves though being good at disciplines in question isn't necessarily something to be proud of, maybe with the exception of poop scooping; everyone who does it should get bronze at the very least. Lastly, the Icons' shape, the pentagon, stands for five boroughs of NYC.
