Ministry Ideaz's profile

Help People in Need in Rural Ecuador

As a provider of Jehovah's Witnesses service and meetings products based in Ecuador, Ministry Ideaz has borne witness to the educational and healthcare needs of children in rural populations in the country. Ministry Ideaz offers a range of products that introduce life skills through Bible studies, such as ministry meeting workbooks and Bible flashcards, and some of its founding members have also completed community service in small Ecuadorian towns.

Recent studies have shown a disproportionate number of people in rural communities in Ecuador experience poverty when compared with those living in urban centers. Additionally, children in small towns must often walk long distances to access education. Here are some ways to help support positive change in rural Ecuador.

1. Visit the Black Sheep Inn. Located near the village of Chugchilan, the Black Sheep Inn has become well known as an ethical travel destination. Visitors enjoy the inn's ecological living and permaculture principles while surrounded by verdant cloud-covered forests and canyons, knowing the inn will put the money spent there toward local education, recycling, and infrastructure initiatives.

2. Make a donation to WE Charity to support its WE Villages efforts in Ecuador. This group has provided rural villages in the province of Chimborazo with clean water, healthcare services, and other assistance since 1999.

3. Sponsor a child living in Ecuador. By making an ongoing donation through such groups as Children International and SOS Children's Villages, anyone can help a child living in Ecuador. It costs as little as $35 a month.
