A Prelude to a Kiss...
A Simple Marketing Strategy That Will Ensure Engagement
A Prelude to a Kiss… Increase Your Engagement Rate with this Strategy
When marketing your brand, even your personal brand, it's important to use your brand's authentic tone. Below I am showcasing my personal brand and how I use humor, my personal brand's authentic tone, to engage and connect with my audience through a strategy I've named "A Prelude to a Kiss".
Look at the post. It's funny. I knew it would have a high engagement rate. One might think I was looking to grab the attention of McDonalds as a job seeker. That is not even close to the strategy behind the tweet. This tweet served as a prelude to a more important tweet that would be coming next. I needed a high engagement rate to put myself front and center. The prelude tweet, the funny McDonald’s tweet, did just that. The prelude tweet made me familiar and as my audience was still giggling, out came the second tweet, the money-making tweet; the Kiss. The second tweet is the tweet that mattered as far as conversion goes and is the tweet that showcased my company. The strategy was a success and although a lot of my followers didn’t need my services in the moment, they still clicked the link, giving the second tweet, the Kiss, just as high of an engagement rate as the first tweet.

the [Point]...

Your goal is to create community, engage and connect with your audience in an authentic tone and if you can do that, your real goal of growing your brand will begin to happen organically. Find your brand's authentic tone when you are creating your content strategy. And if your goal seems a bit out of reach, use my "Prelude to a Kiss" strategy. First attract attention by connecting to your audience on an emotional level, (i.e., make them laugh, cry, smile, happy, mad etc.) and follow up quickly, while you have their attention, with your money-making post.
