Doyou provoke mistakes? Could your please explain by shortly discussing arecent project of yours?
(Asked by Nantjen Kussel in an interview for PAGE Magazine, Germany)

Sometimes I do that, for instance on the second CDcover that I had to design for the rock band 'Implant for Denial' (OTHEROOT),errors/mistakes/glitches became the central concept around which the wholealbum gravitated. The band translated their previous album from Romanian intoEnglish in order to promote themselves around Europe. The act of “Translation”became obviously the general theme, and of course with the process oftranslation comes its inevitable offspring, namely theerror/mistake/interpretation mixed together with the cultural meta-luggage ofthe translator(person). But back to the designing; I started looking formistakes everywhere and on all levels in order to use them not onlystylistically but also correctly within the general topic that the band sangabout. I over-emphasized mistakes, stereotypes, errors, glitches as much as theprint medium allowed it. So, to come back to your question, the answer is yes, sometimes – when it is needed and it adds value to the theme, it is necessaryto provoke them.
