One of my favorite assignments during my time at Rhode Island College was creating the book seen here. It was a lot of work, but it stretched my creative muscle, as well as my Adobe CS5 skills. The assignment was to create a book on any subject as long as it provided enough material to fill six spreads, one of which would be a fold-out, so it would be twice as wide as the rest. I chose the island of Puerto Rico as my subject. My family is originally from Puerto Rico and I had just recently returned from a delightful vacation there. The book contains a combination of photos I took during my trip and photos I found online; these are surrounded by playful typography and a small number of digitally created graphics. I think it's a nice tribute to that beautiful island, and a pretty decent demonstration of my skills.
