BRIEFING
The Ovation Aquatic Yacht Centre is located in the Westhaven region around the Auckland CBD, it is a yacht club, with a modernistic design, combining with a traditional wooden yacht club style. The design is mainly influenced by whale and rocks. Also adding in traditional Maori patterns, to make the building more appealing and more iconic to New Zealand. It used solar energy, as well as underwater hydro turbines to provide energy for the building, thus supplying the building with sufficient energy throughout the day, creating an off-grid system. There consist a mini garden, dining area and the reception in the main building block, Whilst having two elevators to get to the two support buildings, they are made for leisure, education as well as a space for a viewing party, when there is a special event, for example, the Americas cup. There is also an outdoor entertainment area allowing visitors to enjoy the fresh air whilst looking at the views.
