Negative Chair -- Joyce Lin

Negative Chair
PETG plastic, monofilament

A vacant, inaccessible bubble occupies the space around an absent chair. This piece is influenced by my disturbance and fixation with the opaqueness of modern, manufactured society, with objects that seem to arise out of nowhere, hiding or lacking origin and context. Sections of the bubble are vacuum-formed over molds and then stitched together with monofilament.
