Sum Fun is a project about integrating art and games with fourth grade Math class in order to improve the learning and increase the attentiveness of students. I took the Math Lebanese mandatory book that is used in Grade 4 in Lebanon and designed 21 games & exercises for 21 lessons.
It constitutes of a box that contains 21 games and art exercises to be used as add-ons to the already found Lebanese Math curriculum and therefore they are strictly based on the mandatory Math lessons Lebanese schools teach in Grade 4.
Those games and exercises are divided into 4 categories: Problem solving, speed, drawing/painting and collage making.
In details, the box contains:
- 10 games (10 packages) and 360 playing cards.
- 2 board games printed on fabric
- 11 exercises
- 15 templates that are provided on a CD
- 1 manual to explain to the teachers in details how every game and exercise should be done and played.
- Stickers, pins and awards to be given to the students to encourage them during the school year.
On top of that, Sum Fun provides a website for teachers that is both a blog and a forum in order for them to share what is happening in their classes, to ask other teachers who are using the Sum Fun box questions as well as give each other tips.

THE BOX:
THE GAMES THAT REQUIRE PROBLEM SOLVING:

THE GAMES THAT REQUIRE SPEED:
The board is printed on an A1 Fabric.
The car templates are for the students to chose from and customize and then use them to play on the board with.
THE EXERCISES THAT REQUIRE DRAWING AND COLORING:
(Some of the exercises have templates while the others don't; they only have instructions that are found in the manual because it is up to the students to draw and paint and create their art pieces while using the Math lessons.)

THE MANUAL:
Table of content with the name of the Math lesson found in the Lebanese Math Book that schools study from and the game / exercises attributed to each lesson. They are also listed in the same order as the Lebanese Math Book.
Small tabs on top of every game with the name of the Math lesson, the game attributed to it, and small icons of the material needed for each.
Instruction Illustration + Detailed Description of every step of the games & exercises.
The manual is color coded.
THE CD:
The CD is a pop up CD.
It contains all the templates that are needed for the games & exercises and is for the use of teachers for them to print.

THE POSTER:
My poster is 3D and it is one of the exercises I provided but scaled to A1 size.
PROMOTIONAL PACKS:
The name of every Jury member is written inside the box.
Every box contains pins, stickers, a pop up CD, a booklet containing all the items, and a brochure for the Sum Fun Website. The booklet is color coded and every color has a pop up character.
THE BUSINESS CARDS:
3D buisness cards that become flat in order to be placed in your wallet.
THE WEBSITE:
The first part of the website is a scroll down website with basic information.
The second part is a scroll down is a blog for teachers who are using the Sum Fun box.
The third part is a scroll down is a forum for teachers to interact with each other, ask each other questions & give each other tips.
