To celebrate the Tour De France in Yorkshire, we were commissioned to repurpose 5 junction boxes along the Leeds high street.
Each of the five boxes represents a different stage of the race: Leeds, Harrogate, York, Sheffield and Paris. Using popular landmarks from each of the locations, we were able to transform the street furniture to capture the excitement around the Grand Depart.
The boxes were brightly coloured to stand out amongst the grey urban landscape. On the day they were enjoyed by children and adults alike, being used as viewing platforms for the Tour de France spectators.
They continue to be a prominent feature along the Leeds Headrow, reminding the city of its big race.
