Project Background
New innovation of design has been moving toward sustainable whereas up-cycling is one of the topic that all the industries has been working on. Starting with the problem and targeting to handle the waste by creating multifunctional as well as design of the waste from day one. We have design combination of material product of DEESAWAT (teakwood), and SCG (cement) into the modular concept. As one of students who participate in this project has met several challenge is finding the unique green concept, to do a lot experimental with the material combination and also concrete 3D printing. Because it was one of the big project for students in the company, every process was very advanced and critical.
Design concept
One of the reason for modula concept is that they can be multifunctional before they turn into waste. And as for teakwood, they are solid teakwood with the minimize profile, so they can be used as future raw material for future production.
Second Life / up-cycle concept
Generally cement end up with landfill. So we have design cement with 3D printing technology to safe the moulding cost/waste. And all the piece was design with the lego concept where they can be utilized in multifunctional (extended the first lifecycle). But once they turn into waste, we have designed the breaking point where they can be break and utilized as gardening decoration.
