Tweede Lewe - hangover food truck

When designing the food truck, it really became a process of trial and error, trying to figure out what works and what does not. By using the pattern as part of the wrap gave the design a bit more personality and elevated the design from something boring to something that tells the story. The red dots symbolising the ping pong ball used in beer pong and gives the design a fun element to it, almost as if it's bouncing around.
In this project I started to really focus on the photography and the story telling of my projects through the photography, by incorporating different elements such as food and a model. When looking at the design of the packaging I tried to keep in mind who the target audience is, hung over student, so keeping the design simple and practical was a big part of the design process. I also wanted to make the packaging recognisable, by placing the logo like a big red stop sign on each element, so that every student in Stellenbosch knowns where you got your sandwich.
Coming up with a concept for this project was one of the biggest challenges but once I developed the concept, it carried the whole design. Tweede lewe became something a lot of students in Stellenbosch can relate to. Even though the design is very simple and minimalistic, the story behind the food truck gets told with the beer pong cups and balls as a design element in the brand identity. I had fun with this project as I could incorporate a piece of my student life in one of my projects.
