Mona Lisa in the Fourth Dimension

Mona Lisa in the Fourth Dimension

This captivating artwork comprises four unique portraits of the iconic Mona Lisa. Each portrait has been meticulously sliced into small rectangles and skillfully reassembled, introducing a new dimension to the original masterpiece. The result is a mesmerizing mosaic that beautifully captures the essence of Leonardo da Vinci's renowned work.
Take two replicas of the Mona Lisa portrait, each slightly offset from the other, and vertically cut them into 21 strips as depicted in Figs. 1.a and b. Subsequently, assemble them by alternating the strips as shown in Fig. 1.c.
Duplicate the achieved outcome twice, ensuring a slight offset between the copies. Then, horizontally cut them into 21 strips, as demonstrated in Figs. 2.a and b. Finally, reassemble them using the same method as before. The result should be Figure 2.c, depicting a composite Mona Lisa composed of four portraits of herself.
Here is a detail of the cutting performed.
You can finalize the mosaic by incorporating a color gradient in the background that aligns with the original colors of the original artwork.
