January 31, 2010 - 9-0 is a series of photographs from the now non-existent home of the late Merce Cunningham (d. 7/26/2009) and John Cage (d. 8/12/1992). These photographs were made as part of an ongoing personal study of human relationship with space. The couple had lived in their loft-apartment for most of their time in New York. Originally a series of 10 photographs, the piece is named from and inspired by Jasper John's lithographic piece (0-9) which hung on one of the walls.The loft was returned to the landlord for on Feb 1, 2010. his is Merce Cunningham and John Cage's New York City apartment the day before keys were handed over to the landlord. The landlord planned to gut the apartment. Winner of the 2010 International Photography Awards [Interior Architecture].
