If diversity is the spice of life, then change is its driving force, and I for one have enjoyed riding the wave. As an artist in this day in age I marvel at our evolving world that seems to be reaching breakneck speeds towards an uncertain future. It is thrilling to be alive today.
One thing I've come to appreciate is how the worlds between artists continue to intertwine through through the internet. This website alone has provided me a window into some wonderful minds, I for one feed upon riveting images that tell a story, for I am, at heart, a storyteller. My passion for stories spans as far as I can remember. My first memories of being affected by stories come from the projected movies of "Ghostbusters" and "Star Wars." My siblings and I have grown up on movies, comic books, and action figures, the vehicles of our imagination. Epic stories appeal to me, but intimate moments such as a monologue on stage can be just as powerful. Human beings fascinate me with all their complexity, noble and terrifying potential, faults and virtues, ironies and constraints.
One of the great things we have as human beings is the ability to laugh. Humor, in many cases dark humor, always resonates with the inner cynic I have developed in response to the ludicrous elements of our society, such as globalized marketing, brands, and ideologies. We need to be able to laugh at ourselves, the last laugh is on us anyway.
My determination is to tell stories, from the brush, on the stage, through a camera. One of the defining moments in my creative life came when I was asked to show up and audition for the play "Dracula." From there the theatre has grown a special place in my heart from which I've collected numerous experiences, lessons, and relationships that continue to pay off in great dividends. I personally believe any artist, or person for that matter, can only benefit from participating in a play. There's nothing like behind-the-scenes preparation for live performance, wether it be acting or design. Collaborating with dedicated, passionate, creative people has become a sweet opportunity every chance I get. Read Less
