Like most artists, I loved to draw as a kid. I went on to college and attended Northern Illinois University, graduating with a BFA with an emphasis in illustration. Shortly after graduation, I started apprenticing for the largest Art studio in Chicago, Phase II. From there I worked for a series of commercial art studios and agencies that produced work for the advertising industry in the Chicago area.

While working in the advertising world, I continued to seek ways to grow as an artist and began regularly attending model workshops at The Palette and Chisel in Chicago. In 2003, I won a full scholarship to the P&C. Around this time I also started to paint plein-air landscapes. This was terrific training and even led me to some gallery showings and competitions.

Around the same time, I started a career in toy design for McDonald’s. Over the next 6 years I worked with the 2 agencies that produced Happy Meal toys. My inspirations are too numerous to mention, but I will say, I am driven and inspired by work that has the quality of being dynamic, charming, animated, fun, or all of the above. Currently I am freelancing on projects ranging from quick concepts to finished digital art.
