Victoria Banks
Graduate Teacher of Record in English; Interactive Narrative Designer and Script Writer for Games
My name is Victoria Banks, and I am a graduate instructor of English at Clemson University as well as a student in the Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design PhD Program. My studies are focused around video game rhetoric, interactive narrative design, ludology, and script writing for games. I use this knowledge in my own pedagogy to create engaging and interactive classrooms with reward systems and gamification. I have taught for six years in Atlanta, Georgia and am taking my experiences to Clemson’s English Department, which supports my goal of teaching new media forms of composition and communication. My academic experience around video games led me to receive an Excellence in Research Award and the Outstanding Student Scholar Award during my Master’s in the Art of Professional Writing at Kennesaw State University. As a recent resident of Clemson, South Carolina, I’m looking forward to making new progress in my field and having a positive influence on students.
