With more than two decades of experience as a radiologist, Steven Bier, MD, has served multiple institutions in addition to his private practice. Dr. Bier is the current Attending Radiologist at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. Among his previous positions, Steven Bier, MD, has also served as an Attending Radiologist with Christ Hospital, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and Union Hospital. Additionally, he held the prior position of Director of Radiology at Beth Israel Hospital Kings Highway Division in the Bronx, New York.

Steven Bier, MD, began his medical studies directly from high school through an experimental program of The City College of The City University of New York. Subsequently, he attended the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he earned his MD. His eventual residency in radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center followed his internship in internal medicine at Lutheran Medical Center. A fellowship in abdominal imaging then followed at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.

Reflecting his passion for people who are disabled, Steven Bier, MD, co-founded the not-for-profit business Scan Man to provide living-wage employment to individuals with Asperger’s syndrome. Scan Man is located on the campus of The College of New Jersey in Ewing, where the institution has a specialized program assisting individuals with disabilities to lead productive lives. The business utilizes workers with Asperger’s to scan and digitally enhance photographs, slides, and movies as an Internet-based service endeavor. The net revenues of Scan Man are donated to the Marvin & Shirley Bier Charitable Gift Fund in order to support the employment of people with autism. In addition to his work with Scan Man, Dr. Bier serves on the Board of Directors of MyGOAL Autism. Read Less
