Since 1999, Peter Berkov has worked in several capacities in the field of information technology. Berkov began his education at the University of California, Santa Cruz, leading him to the College of Marin in Kentfield, California, where he studied computer science. From there, he took a position at Pacific Bell as a DSL Network Engineer. In addition to installing DSL lines, he provided a plethora of Internet services to clients. Between 1999 and 2003, Peter Berkov performed similar functions at Northpoint Communications and AT&T Inc., also located in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he currently resides.

After working as an IT Consultant at High Output Systems, an information technology company in Northern California, Peter Berkov took a position as a Network Operations Center Technician at Marketlive, Inc., an e-commerce software and services company. Over the last four years, the company has promoted him three times. In his first year, he earned promotion to Build Master, and to Systems Administrator in his second year. Berkov recently earned another promotion to Security Systems Engineer, the title he holds today. To further his professional development, Peter Berkov enrolled in the UNIX/LINUX System Administration certification program at the University of California, Berkeley, Extension, in conjunction with his work at Marketlive.

Peter Berkov actively participates in many charitable organizations, including Greenpeace, Save Darfur, the World Wildlife Fund, and Habitat for Humanity International. He also finds time to volunteer at several local institutions that help struggling members of his community, such as the Henry Ohlhoff House, an organization that provides affordable in- and outpatient care to people struggling with addiction, and the St. Anthony Foundation, a nonprofit institute that provides shelter, housing, and meals, in addition to other services. Peter Berkov also works with a local suicide prevention center and the Angel Island Association, an organization that facilitates the preservation and restoration of natural and historical resources in San Francisco. A nature lover, Berkov belongs to the Yosemite Conservancy, as well as the California Academy of Sciences. Read Less
