I am currently a Fulbright Researcher in the Geography department at the University of Turku, Finland. I am focusing my work on fluvial geomorphology with Drs. Jukka Käyhkö and Petteri Alho. Previously, I was a M.S. student the University of Maryland- Baltimore County within the Geography and Environmental Systems Department, studying geomorphology, fluvial sedimentology, and hydrology, with a focus on mechanisms governing stream bank erosion from tributaries in Baltimore County, Maryland into the Chesapeake Bay. My work will aid in the resolution of excessive sedimentation in the Bay, which has recently resulted in 'rain taxes' for many citizens along the East Coast. This work is expected to be published by the Winter of 2014. Upon publishing my Master's work, I plan to pursue a Ph.D. at Utah State University with Dr. Patrick Belmont focused on LiDAR applications and fluvial geomorphology.

In addition to this work, I have developed a diversity of interests, including cartography, data visualization, graphic design, photography, coding and all aspects earth science. With such widespread interests, I am capable of combining art and scientific data to produce aesthetic maps and images. My aim is to effectively communicate results of scientific data clearly and succinctly to the non-expert. Through the use of programs such as ArcMap, MATLAB, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, and ERDAS Imagine, I welcome requests to produce effective displays of data, publishable maps, concise graphs, and noteworthy graphics.
