In 2009, Kelly was chosen to be one out of twelve young photographers in the world to go to Paris, France for Haute Couture Week and to work alongside veteran Fashion Photographer, Steven Silverstein. In Paris, she attended the Haute Couture runway shows, and shot with models from the Karin modeling agency on location in the streets of Paris, as well as in a natural light studio featuring Haute Couture gowns designed by Georges Chakra. Major inspirations for Kelly are the great Photographers and Film Directors such as Lillian Bassman, Helmut Newton, Man Ray, Jean-Luc Goddard, Gregg Toland, Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock.
Upon her return from Paris, she was accepted into California State University at Fullerton's Bachelor of Fine Arts program specializing in Graphic Design. There, she mastered print, typography, layout, packaging, as well as web and media design.
During that time, Kelly also created her own magazine, titled LURK, where she managed many roles, such as the Editor, Photographer, Designer and the Illustrator. During the process of creating the magazine, she became increasingly more interested in layout & publishing design. She hand crafted several perfect bound copies, and also put the magazine up online to reach a larger audience. Just recently at the recommendation of a Design Professor, Kelly sent LURK Magazine off to New York to enter the Graphis Annual New Talent 2013 awards, in order to run with other up and coming talented individuals all across the globe. http://www.graphis.com/
While still in Design school, Kelly continued producing, styling, and shooting her own fashion editorial spreads for fun and for submissions. She enjoyed shooting with both film and digital cameras as there is benefit with each. She always enjoyed developing and printing her film in dark rooms.
Kelly has an extremely strong work ethic, and believes in working very hard to achieve her goals. She is always interested in increasing her knowledge in various fields. She is very open to professional feedback and constructive criticism in order to facilitate growth.
Once finished at the University in Spring 2013, Kelly will extend her experience in London, England for an internship in Fall 2013. Read Less
