Since 2009, Atlanta-based defense attorney Katie Hingerty has led The Hingerty Law Firm, LLC, as Managing Member and Partner. The firm handles a variety of criminal cases, including drug possession, DUIs, unlicensed driving, armed robbery, battery, drug trafficking, and murder. Katie Hingerty has practiced law across Georgia since passing the bar in 2004, handling civil and criminal cases at the various law firms she has worked with.

Ms. Hingerty began her career in law shortly after entering law school, working at Fortson, Bentley & Griffin, P.A., in Athens during the summer of 2002. The next year, she spent the summer with Wiggins & Norris LLC, also in Athens. Ganek, Wright, & Dobkin P.C. in Lawrenceville hired her in her first attorney role in 2004, working on residential real estate transactions. After four years there, Ms. Hingerty transferred to Gonzalez & Associates, P.C., in Atlanta, where she worked on criminal and immigration cases. After a year, she moved on to start her own firm.

Katie Hingerty completed her undergraduate education with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations at the University of Georgia. She involved herself extensively in extra-curricular activities during her time there, taking on leadership roles with the Reading Is Leading Book Drive, the University Judiciary, Mortar Board, and Georgia Girls. Ms. Hingerty’s academic results matched her extracurricular efforts. She graduated summa cum laude, first in the class of 2001. She then began her study of law at the university’s School of Law. Hingerty again involved herself in extracurricular activities, such as mock trial competitions, while attending on a full-tuition scholarship. She obtained her Juris Doctorate in May of 2004.
