An acclaimed restaurant located on Fifth Avenue in New York City, Juventino features a diverse menu of simple, fresh food that caters to discerning palates. Founded by Juventino Avila, the restaurant reflects the summers of his youth, which he spent on a farm with his grandparents in Santa Ana Coatepec in Mexico. During that time, Avila worked on the family farm, helping his grandmother prepare fresh vegetables in the kitchen and tending to the animals in the yard. Juventino Avila fell in love with the idea of using fresh ingredients to create simple and tasty dishes, an idea that would follow him throughout his career as a chef.

After studying at Peter Kump’s School of Culinary Arts in New York City and working at restaurants such as Gramercy Tavern and Asia de Cuba, Avila went on to found the Juventino restaurant. As the executive chef at Juventino, Avila develops seasonal menus and uses only the freshest ingredients from local farmers and purveyors. Read Less
