A medical professional with more than a decade of experience, Dr. Geoffrey Mountvarner serves as Chief of Emergency Medicine at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Mountvarner is responsible for the operations of the substantial department that treats 58,000 patients in an area designed for barely more than half that number. His goal is to improve patient care and develop strategies for the increasing volume of individuals in need of emergency treatment. During his tenure, Dr. Mountvarner facilitated the evaluation of nearly 300 advanced life support providers. The innovative measure resulted in the retraining of approximately 50 professionals and the reinforcement of fundamentals and procedures for the entire force.
