Gabriele Mannarino was born in Rome in 1982, he started hand drawing in his childhood and continued to exercise this technique with continuity. At the age of 5, he and his family moved to Canada, and that's where his love for nature and sensibility towards environmental preservation comes from, addressed under various forms in his future artistic production. Painting will come later, thank's to his mother's influence.
In Rome he attended high school and the academy of fine arts, which he left to follow his personal artistical research.
Mannarino ranges from drawing, to graphics, digital art, informal painting, showing his composite influences deriving from pop art, street art, industrial design, and informal movement. In parallel, he realizes furnishing and ready made sculptures from recycled materials and objects, showing with irony and efficaciousness the lightness with which we produce and rapidly get rid of our daily life objects.
In 2012, he publishes for il Menocchio, an e-book series focused on Mr. Minimal, a character on which he started working since 2004. Mr. Minimal is frustated and resignated, but only apparently, he lives a prosaic and little participated everyday life, to the point that his head goes elsewhere, outside the frame, beyond the scene and the contigent, from where he challenges everyone to reach him.
In the same year, under the signature Pascale Mannarino (https://www.behance.net/pascalemannarino), he starts with his friend Rocco Pascale a prolific cooperation with the aim to explore the oppositions between figurative/informal, form/substance, body/mind.
In 2013 he moves to Paola (CS) and gives life along with Fabrizio Trotta, Clemente Poli, Mario D'Angelo to the CAP 87027 Collettivo Artistico Paolano (Paolan Artist collective https://www.facebook.com/CAP87027). In the artist collective, he's been occupied with individual and shared projects, in which he exercised his natural inclination towards multitasking-multidisciplinarity, lived as a resorce and continuous stimulus.
Presently he lives and works in Rome.
