Certified by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Academy of HIV Medicine Dr. David Gershan practices with the San Mateo Medical Center’s Daly City Clinic and St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco where he focuses his attention on research and treatment related to HIV. Previously, Dr. David Gershan served as a Civil Surgeon with the United States Immigration Medical Examinations and as an adult and pediatric caregiver within the San Mateo Medical Center's clinic system, and medical director of both the STD Clinic and Homeless Mobile Clinics of the San Mateo County Health Department. In addition, he serves as a member of the Clinical Faculty at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. In his role there, he teaches and precepts medical students in clinical medicine. He also treats as an Anthropsophic Physician and is on the Board of the Physicians Association of Anthroposophic Medicine in the United States.

In his spare time, Dr. David Gershan pursues a wide array of pastimes, including playing the cello, reading, and expanding his appreciation of the world via hiking and travel, and to gardening at home and in the community. In addition, he has devoted time and energy to several civic-minded causes, such as community clinics and homeless shelters in New York and California.
