Attorney Cullen McKinney serves as a Founding Member of Tanoury, Nauts, McKinney, and Garbarino, P.L.L.C., located in Detroit, Michigan. He handles a variety of civil defense litigation cases, including medical malpractice, professional and product liability, and general negligence. Cullen McKinney belongs to the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the Michigan Society of Hospital Risk Managers.

Prior to cofounding Tanoury, Nauts, McKinney, and Garbarino, Cullen McKinney attended Michigan State University, where he graduated with distinction with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1991. Mr. McKinney continued his education at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, attaining his Juris Doctor in 1993. During law school, Mr. McKinney participated in the activities of the university’s Law Review as a Case and Comment Editor. He also served on the board of the Moot Court and interned with Patricia J. Boyle, who was a Michigan Supreme Court Justice at the time.

In addition to litigating cases on behalf of his clients, Cullen McKinney provides legal counsel to Detroit Medical Center, a Vanguard Health Systems facility, and wrote an article titled “Home Office Deductions and I.R.C. Section 280A: Did Commissioner v. Soliman Really Clear Up the Meaning of Principal Place of Business?” He has been invited to speak on several topics having to do with medical malpractice cases, such as depositions, effective documentation, and medication errors. Outside of the office, Mr. McKinney enjoys volunteering as a coach for a local youth flag football team.
