As early as he can remember, Chris Takakura has always been fascinated with the world of art and design. During his education in high school, he enjoyed art and graphic design classes which intrigued him about graphic design as a career track.

He continued his design education well into college with his attendance to the infamous Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. The private art school proved to be beneficial and one of a kind experience. The school changed his course of vision as a designer, and with the new knowledge he gained about creative advertising and conceptual development, it led him to a whole new direction while maintaining the traditional practice of graphic design and fine art.

He has always strived himself to become a not-so-typical graphic designer by executing his vision and design through emotions, while trying to break the barrier between art and design. He finds computers to simply be a tool for production, while his mind and connection with his psyche is what really establishes a strong design, with creativity and conceptual development.

When it comes to personal work, Chris Takakaura is very strong with abstract work, utilizing photography, 3D models, with a slight touch of typography to end it all. He is not afraid to introduce his audience with his enigmatic visions, with a mixture of compelling compositions and displaying his creative prowess through digital design and technology. He finds music to be an inspiration, with dreams and psychology setting the foundation of his communication.

His collaboration with different businesses has enabled him to venture across different industries, while maintain the core value and education of graphic design.

Chris Takakura's work has been featured in magazines such as GQ, TokyoArts, Design Graphics, Digital Design, Esquire, AVAart, to name a few. His work with different clients has also gave him the opportunity to showcase his work of art to many different retail outlets, most notably Barney's New York, Barney's Beverly Hills, Barney's Las Vegas, Bloomingdales, and Dior.
