Building off of nearly two decades of professional experience in the financial sector, Rao Chalasani independently designed the “Enterprise Risk Management System” (U.S. patent-pending) during his time as the chief technology officer with Bank of America-Merrill Lynch (BofA). Prior to his role with that firm, Rao Chalasani worked with Merrill Lynch as its chief technology officer from 2005 to 2008, rising from his previous position as project manager which he held between 1997 and 2002. In the interim, Mr. Chalasani worked with Deutsche Bank in New York, managing a team of eight staff. Previously, Mr. Chalasani was a project leader with SunGard Data Systems. In preparation for his career in the financial industry, Rao Chalasani completed leadership training through JP Morgan Chase after obtaining his degree in engineering from New York University's Polytechnic School of Engineering in 1994.

Outside of his professional background, Mr. Chalasani also works to support populations in need in India, his family’s country of origin. In commemoration of his late sister, Mr. Chalasani has collaborated with Sakhi to establish the Swarna Chalasani Economic Empowerment Fund, seeking to prevent domestic violence in South Asia.
