A graduate of Kalamazoo College, Amy Courter balances a busy career as an executive with a commitment to a range of civic responsibilities. A lifetime member of the United States Air Force’s Civil Air Patrol (CAP), she served as the group’s national commander and CEO from 2007 to 2011. In this position, she led a team of more than 61,000 volunteers in Missions for America, including vital logistical support through 118 continuous days of aerial imagery at the Gulf Oil Spill Crisis. Amy Courter also served on the organization’s board of governors from 2006 to 2011.

In addition to her work with CAP, Amy Courter has held several leadership positions with the International Air Cadet Exchange Association (IACEA). Currently serving as president of the organization, she previously held roles such as vice president and United States delegate. In 2010, she received the Medal of Honour for her work with IACEA, the most prestigious award bestowed by the organization.

Professionally, Amy Courter serves as the CEO of carbon-fiber manufacturer Advanced Materials, Intl Inc., a firm she founded in 2010. She also serves on the boards of several nonprofit and educational organizations, including Kalamazoo College, Women in Defense, and the Central Michigan University BIS Advisory Board. Read Less
