Nancy Griswold was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1954. She acquired her BFA at Massachusetts College of Art and also studied the arts at Bennington College, Hartford Art School, Northeastern University and Decordova Museum Art School. She spent many early years in the Boston area studying and working in the arts. She now lives in the White Mountains of New Hampshire after a two year stay in the countryside of Vermont and several years in Connecticut. She is a diversified and multi-talented artist. She has both taught and been very prolific in her own artistic pursuits. Her employment has encompassed fields of fine arts, photography, teaching, oil painting, design and illustration through various towns in New England.

She believes that her art is a product of vision, desire and discovery; and that it's growth is dependent on challenges, courage and constant vigilance.
