I am a graphic designer with over 30 years of professional experience. I also have a great deal of experience with content development, editing and proofreading. My greatest passion is publishing; several of my co-workers used to say that I have ink running through my veins - specifically PMS 200!

I owned/ operated an advertising and graphic design agency on the eastern shore for 12 years. During that time, I launched three publications - two were mine alone and one was created with a creative partner. I served as Editor on all three endeavors and have since been Copy Editor for numerous publications and books.

I taught myself how to design web pages in early 1997 using raw HTML and was hired by Intel as Lead Web Developer and Designer in Chandler, AZ. During the next five years I designed over 50 intranet sites, taught Photoshop, FrontPage and Dreamweaver, and wrote technical documents to guide new department admins in maintaining their group intranet sites. I also published to the Corporate server (www.intel.com and developer.intel.com) and helped Intel launch their first live video cam website, broadcast from the 1998 Embedded Systems Conference. I was their first contractor to telecommute on a full-time basis and was asked to teach other Intel employees how to telecommute effectively.

I am currently searching for work which would allow me to continue to telecommute. I work well independently and my home office is fully equipped with numerous PC and MAC workstations, film/slide/flatbed scanners, digital and movie cameras and color printers. Each computer is loaded with all of the necessary applications to create quality graphics, animation, e-learning, website production and content management, desktop publishing, editing, photo retouching and restoration plus pre-press applications necessary for professional work. I am proficient in most applications (especially Adobe Creative Suite) and have a high-speed internet connection. My grammar, spelling and proofreading skills are excellent plus my typing speed is over 100 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.

Some of my specialties include digital photo manipulation and historic photo restoration (using Photoshop), color correction, proofreading and editing, research, content development and management, logo design and both e-mail and online marketing. I love my work and always try to exceed expectations for both myself and my clients.

Please review my resume and a sampling of my work. Note that site shows just a sampling of my work. If there is something specific that you would like to see, please contact me at karenokeefe.33573@gmail.com. Also, I can readily supply both personal and professional references and other portfolio samples as needed.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that we can work together! Read Less
