After a successful legal career of more than 15 years, Edward Reicin left his position as Managing Partner of Gordon, Reicin, West & Rosenbloom in 1975 to assume the role of President of M. Putterman & Co., an industry leader in such textile products as protective coverings for athletic fields, windscreens for athletic and industrial applications, indoor divider curtains, and the flexible passageways that connect jetways with aircraft. He led the company’s expansion into environmental linings with the establishment of MPC Containment, which manufactures collapsible fuel storage tanks for military use and pollution control protective covers. After building the companies into a $50 million operation employing 200 people in the Chicago area, Edward Reicin sold both companies to a private equity fund in 2007, staying on as a consultant and retaining partial ownership. He has secured long term contracts for many of the company’s products with the military of the United States and other nations.

Educated at the University of Illinois, Edward Reicin followed his BS in Commerce and Law with a Juris Doctor. He went into private practice in 1959, and in 1962, he partnered with three other attorneys to form Gordon, Reicin, West, and Rosenbloom. By the time he departed for M. Putterman in 1975, Reicin had published several articles for professional publications on the topic of Illinois’ wrongful death laws, and the firm has grown to 35 associates.

In 1992, while still at the helm of MPC and M. Putterman, Edward Reicin embarked on a career as a bass opera singer. Over the past two decades he has appeared professionally in productions by several companies in the Chicago area, including roles as Tom in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, Pistola in Verdi’s Falstaff, and the Commendatore in two different productions of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
