An undergraduate at Loyola University Chicago, Daniel Maddalozzo currently pursues majors in anthropology and film production with a minor in history. Daniel Maddalozzo plans to combine his interests by pursuing a career in documentary film. Before matriculating at Loyola, he studied at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois, and graduated summa cum laude. While at the college preparatory school, he belonged to a number of extracurricular organizations. His favorite activity remains the Scholastic Bowl. His senior year, his team earned an invitation to the Illinois quarterfinals due to their superior performance. The team named him its Most Valuable Player. At Loyola University, Daniel Maddalozzo spends his free time working with fellow students and younger generations as a tutor. In the summer of 2012, he tutored other undergraduates in history and then continued working with grade school students through the same organization. The summer before, he served as a counselor at North Shore Country Day Summer Camp, where he taught swimming and sailing lessons.

Throughout his life, Daniel Maddalozzo has maintained a passion for learning about the natural world. He became a certified scuba diver at a young age and has traveled to several locations in the Caribbean and Hawaii to explore the waters. He has also spent considerable time exploring Europe and lived in England as a visiting student. In addition, he is an accomplished fisherman and earned recognition for a record-breaking muskie catch in the Illinois Chain of Lakes. Daniel Maddalozzo has also dedicated a great deal of time to learning various forms of martial arts, especially Korean styles such as Kuk Sool. A blue-belt Kuk Sool contender, he hopes to continue developing his skills in Chicago in the coming years. Read Less
