I'm an animator. I specialise in animating ancient Greek vase scenes and run the 'Panoply Vase Animation Project' with my wife, Dr Sonya Nevin. The project combines the animations with educational content in an online open learning resource website - www.panoply.org.uk.

We are currently working on an exciting project with Oxford University and the Ashmolean Museum. More news on this in the summer.

This project follows hard on the heels of rebranding the Panoply Project as the 'Panoply Vase Animation Project', and redesigning the website to improve the navigation and delivery of the educational content. I'll post details in a new project over the next couple of months.

We've opened a new Zazzle store too. Accessed through www.panoply.org.uk/shop.html, our new store combines the Zazzle range of products with designs directly inspired by the animations.

Last year two new animations were produced in association with the UCD Classical Museum. 'The Procession' was created with MA students studying material culture, and 'Bad Karma' was created from the winning entry in an Irish school's storyboard competition. (http://www.panoply.org.uk/nike.html)

In 2014 'Hoplites! Greeks at War' (http://www.panoply.org.uk/everysoldier.html) was created for the 'Every Soldier has a Story' exhibition at the University of Reading in October of the same year.

In June 2013 I finished 8 animation for the 'Ure Discovery' project at the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology, Reading University. This project combined vase animations with an interactive museum trail. In 2012 I produced 3 animations for 'Ure View' as part of the Cultural Olympiad 'Stories of the World' project which were shown in Westminster Palace as part of the Arts in Parliament programme.

My animation work also includes a couple of animated Greek vase images for an Open University open learning module on the Olympics which has one the OCW award for on-line learning excellence 2012, and an advert for a Red Bull competition.

As well as animations I have also created logos, stationery, a brochure, flyers and posters for companies and individuals. Please see my portfolio link to view these and other pieces. All have been created using Adobe CS4 products.

I completed Design and Multimedia production qualification in Dublin in 2010 and before that gained extensive experience within IT, having been a software engineer, IT project manager and Training and Support analyst. Read Less
