I was born and raised in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and received my BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design where I developed skills in pigment/paint making. I now live and work in balmy East Point GA, just south of Atlanta.

I make the pigment I use in my paintings from rocks, minerals, and colored earths I find and purchases, and the binding media I use is traditional egg tempera. I have been painting with this media since 1991.

My stylistic influences include Paleolithic art, Eastern Orthodox icons, Japanese prints, Persian miniatures, and classical Greek sculpture, and I love the work of Ana Mendieta.

In addition to painting, I also sculpt figurative works from wood and other found objects, create temporary earthworks, and make bawdy marionettes with Sculpey© and whatever I have on hand. Read Less
