Jiří Thiemel

Frontend Developer

Brno, Czech Republic
I like creating, managing and optimizing web components, making them as universal and accessible as possible. I'm happy when working with HTML and CSS, I know a lot of other stuff, but I definitely don't want to be JS-only developer.

I care about accessibility a lot and have some experience in this area.

Also, I have a passion for animations. When bringing a design to life, I always add some micro-animations that increase the experience. I also created few SVG animations.

Currently, I'm playing a bit with canvas and doing some geometrical animations. (I love geometry!) I want to learn how to create complex 2D animations and then also 3D animations with WebGL. (I did a lot of 3D models and renders while I was on high school and college.)

My Hobbies

I love orienteering and hiking. My goal is to spend as much time as possible in forrests and mountains. I like to travel and discover new places. Well, I like to discover things in general.

Another funny discovery was that learning new languages can also be fun and anyone can do that. In the past I tried French and Italian, but both only for a very limited amount of time, as I always knew there is an another language I'd use much more. So, I'm saving Italian as a candy until I master it at least a bit. I already started and currenly I'm learning German and taking it seriously.

I also like to do some home improvements and reuse everything I find around. My latest invention: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz96HleOVKs

Sometimes I also try to play a keyboard. Few years back I had bigger ambitions, but currently I have very little time for that and I'm not making any progress. But sometimes when you're down, it's nice to have something to completely forget about it and calm down. Or just play a while before bedtime, when you still have head full of ideas.
