Work Experience
Bentley User Experience Center
Research Associate
Work with Senior Staff and client teams to create test plans and conduct a variety of research activities, including information architecture studies, usability studies and surveys. Developed a process for creating interactive prototypes with Axure RP, and researched new methods for conducting mobile usability tests. Example activities included:
1. Analyzing qualitative and quantitative results across three geographic areas (North America, Europe and China) and several distinct customer segments for a major healthcare company's brand study.
2. Moderating usability tests and analyzing results across 6 distinct customer segments for a major healthcare company;
3. Assisting with business development activities, including copyediting of proposals and helping pitch new work;
4. Working with a software company to evaluate a complex software project through usability testing, and using the findings to create a prototype for the software's redesign.
5. Creating interactive, annotated prototypes and specifications for the redesign of a regional bank's website;
6. Leading development of the website for World Usability Day, including implementation of custom mapping technology in Drupal 7.

Drupal Content Management System
UX Lead, Community Tools Team
Drupal is an open-source content management system supported by the work of thousands of volunteer contributors around the world. In my current role, I work with a multi-national distributed team to enhance the contributor, new user, and community experience on all Drupal.org properties.
Activities include defining direction and strategy for team priorities, redesigning user profiles and dashboards, creating a new support system for Drupal users, and creating better ways for Drupal user groups to collaborate and set up events. In addition to wireframe and design activities, soliciting feedback from members of the community and synthesizing insight from that feedback is a key part of this role.

Minuteman Press Of Providence
Designer/Prepress Supervisor
Coordinated design and prepress for a busy local printshop. Prepped mechanicals, output plates, and did the odd bit of Real Design™ that came in the door. Learned a huge amount about how the printing process works, which fueled my passion for sustainable design. Also got very good at project management, balancing a full time workload with a budding freelance practice on evenings and weekends.
