Choosing typefaces and how to get the best from all those on offer; identifying the assorted typographic voices which surround us everyday; strategies for working with different kinds of texts, from looking at content analysis to finding inspiration in the richness of language itself; ways to give your work authority through use of structure; and all those details, which when well-managed, can transform ordinary work into something truly extraordinary. The course also includes a session using the Central Saint Martins' letterpress facilities.
