Born in Lisbon, studied in Bristol, took an internship in Amsterdam and worked in Phnom Penh. Despite the worldwide coordinates, Tânia has no laid roots yet. Having no destination, each day is lived as a new adventure, with no specified routes nor plans.
Graduated in Photography with a post-graduation in Anthropology, Tânia uses Photography as vehicle to reach other mediums and seek emotions. Photographing is always an experiment. Photographing people and their habits, with a keen interest in what is not seen on the photograph – their imaginary lives, their secrets and passions. Where photography is simply a reflection of thoughts and emotions, which can bounce from playful to melancholic, whereas travelling became the epitome of adventure, the search for the human genesis, living lives from different cultures and lifestyles.
I follow no rules. I allow my practice to be a reflection of my nomad lifestyle.
