Sydney Rose Kelly

Graphic Designer

Storm Lake, IA, USA
I believe that every requested piece of work has a story to tell and it is my privilege to tell that story.

Hello friend! I graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Art Degree in Graphic Design from BYU-Idaho in April 2015. I am a quick thinking, pet herding, emergency preventing, super-mom. I adventure, I make stuff. Messes are mandatory, sleep is optional. The number of Adobe Suite shortcuts I know is synonymous with the number of times I’ve watched Story Bots with my daughter.

My education and work experience have taught me the value of professionalism, craftsmanship, using a design process, and constantly trying new things to achieve the most creative and effective result that will make clients and consumers happy. I work with a can-do attitude and sense of adventure.

I have gained a strong experience in the following areas: print design, vinyl printing and installation, pattern making, brand identity, typography,
packaging, designing small publications such as posters, fliers, brochures, and web ads. I am also familiar with photography, UX design, and appreciate the value of meaningful user testing.

Color-ize is a locally owned and operated print shop that helps clients from all over the greater Storm Lake area bring their creative visions and needs to life. From start up logos and business cards, to full trailer wraps and large format vinyl sings, if it can be imagined, we can get it done.

My responsibilities include, designing desired client art work quickly, providing proofs, ordering promotional items from ASI Providers, creating art work that is press ready for printing machines such as a large format Roland Printer, Mimaki Vinyl cutter, and various others. I am very familiar with setting up artwork within a die-line. Conducting press checks, printer color calibrations, project color proofing, & print quality verification. I have also been trained to create custom frames, cut glass and assemble canvas stretchers for canvas wraps.

I am also responsible for finalizing any art work to be ready as a final deliverable ensuring the highest craftsmanship and quality. This includes but is not limited to, vinyl weeding, mounting artwork, installation, and packaging.

Elevati

Graphic Design Intern

I designed web ads that would be displayed on Adoption.com for clients such as Adopt Help, Gladney, Adoption Center of Illinois and Bethany Christian Services. Ad sets had to be made quickly, be well designed, and reach out to target audiences.

I ran weekly reports in Google Double Click for Publishers and analyzed the average click through rate of various ad sets and sizes for clients advertising with Adoption.com. I was able to analyze these ad sets to determine the most- and least-effective advertising methods. Based off of this research, I was able to redesign several high-profile ad sets, effectively increasing click-through rate as well as ad revenue.
