Once upon a time, there was an 8-year-old girl who looked through a camera and saw the world. She grew up to be an artist, a photographer, and storyteller, and she never forgot the power that pictures have in creating connection – how reading a book with amazing illustrations or seeing a photo from your childhood immediately takes you back to that moment, that place, those smells, that emotion.

I still haven’t.

That’s why, as a photographer/designer, I strive to not only that create an image or design, but a feeling. Whether I’m taking a portrait, creating a website, or photographing those simple but monumental moments that happen as a child plays on a sunny Saturday, my job is to create a product that trigger a memory or evokes an emotion. Each project should tell the story – your story – as richly as possible, so that you have a connection whenever you see it. After all, connection is what good story telling, and great visual design are all about.
